Can you help Me, Please?

Perhaps you have information about some of the people here or know of a resource that I might follow up.
While I have been blessed in aquiring a lot of information, there ar still many areas of which I have no knowledge, of where to look, of Indexes & Repositories for records of which I might obtain copies.
HAMPSHIRE, Alverstoke, Gosport, Forton, Hardway, Portsea, Portsmouth, Titchfield - - PYCROFT.

PYCROFT, John.
married Jane MARSHALL, 24 October 1825 in Alverstoke Church.
I have a copy from the church register.
I have 1851, 1871, & 1881 census details.
References to Mill Lane, Forton, Alverstoke.
John was a Mariner and / or Shipwright at Gosport / Portsea.
I have all the birth 'certificates' of all their children.
I have a lot of information on the marraiges & deaths of their children.
I cannot find a will / Admon for John.

I would like to find information on:-
John's Birth date & Place
John's birth parents and siblings
John's Death Date & Pace.

Clues - & Questions :-
John was a mariner &/or shipwright as indicated on his marriage record, the birth & marriage records of his children.
  1. Q.- Is it reasonable to expect he might have followed work to Portsmouth from the other great naval base & harbour of Great Yarmouth in Norfolk? His birth family could be here.
  2. Q.- Is there any Portsmouth / Portsea / Gosport shipping, marine or harbour records that might disclose a few details?
John's Death Date would have been between 1849 & census date March 1851.
John's sons became Brick makers and brick layers. One of their descendants still practice that in 1999.
  3. Q.- While the Burseldon brick factory project has a little information, is there any more information that might tell of John and his boys? Is there any information that might tell of Portsmouth harbour construction or railways?
  4. CHURCH TITHES - Did Alverstoke Parish have such a revenue system in 1825? Is John PYCROFT on it?
  5. LAND RECORDS - are there any of these for Gosport , Alverstoke & Forton, in 1825?
  6. Q.- Are there repositories & records I'm not yet aware of that might lead directly to details of John PYCROFT?
