Notes for: William HAYNES

* William was convicted of stealing a pair of shoe lasts 11 Mar 1845 & sentenced to 7y, with 1y hard labour. Transported to Long Point, Hobart. He was an 'imperfect' shoemaker (apprentice) & could read & write. Note that is wife died as 'widow' in1887!. William began by leasing property, then was registered in the Valuation & Electoral Rolls as an owner.
